It s a corner cafe in my neighborhood. I walk pass it almost every single day on my way to the subway.

It s just a small cafe, about 20 square meters. But the simple yet classic decoration is what exactly catches my eyes, especially the mini bar counter by the open side window. Just picture this, by the wall on the right side is a huge cupboard where a collection of different coffee beans from every corner in the world is displayed. In the middle of the cafe are a work counter and a coffee maker. By the wall on the far side are side tables and comfortable seats with cushions. I love to come often with books because it s a quiet place to read. I can barely hear any sound in here except the sound of grinding beans, making foam cream and pouring coffee. Most customers try to keep low volume and all staff walk close to talk to people. Sometimes, selling the fragrance of coffee and hearing the background music from the coffee maker, I even start to meditate. I just love this place.

It depends. It s impossible to find a place of absolute silence as cities are full of hustles and bustles. But it s not quite hard to find a relatively quiet place. There are many public facilities where require users to be quiet, like public libraries and museums.

Simple because of the low population. I mean a low density of population leads to a low demand of housing, traffic infrastructure and manufacturing, all of which bring tremendous noise during construction.

3、Compared with young people, do old people prefer to live in quiet places?
Not necessarily. In fact, I don t think it s a matter of age but individuality. I mean for those who prioritize privacy may prefer a quiet neighborhood since the tranquility can help avoid disturbance.
